Petty Crime Is Now Legal in Los Angeles
California now allows you to steal property that is worth less than $950 and all you get is a citation more commonly known as a ticket. When you get a ticket, typically you sign promising to show up in court, however, in this circumstance you don’t even have to show up to court because what will happen is that the court won’t even issue a warrant for your arrest.
The city of Los Angeles has decided to become dumb and consider minor crimes to be “annoyance” and no longer have anything to do with the government system. Soon enough, minor crimes will become the next major crime and democrats will wonder “how did that even happen”?
“Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer, Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey and LAPD Chief Michel Moore made the announcement that they will seek in court to dismiss “uncollectible, minor citations” and focus enforcement on more serious offenses.
“We’re taking action with our law enforcement partners today to focus on the most important public safety issues, help address root causes of poverty and homelessness and conserve court resources,” Feuer said. Lacey says that people facing fines for low level offenses should be given a second chance.
This reprieve will help individuals struggling with homelessness and other types of economic challenges,” Lacey said. “Most importantly, we hope to make an impact that benefits the court and allows us all to reallocate limited resources.”
Go to Los Angeles at your own risk—government will NOT protect you—unless you are murdered. It is a dangerous city for honest people. Los Angeles public safety officials announced Wednesday they will focus on more serious offenses and absolve minor infractions from five years or more ago in an effort to “unclog” the court system.
It is sad to see where the criminal justice system is heading in this once beautiful state. Before, this state was tough on crime and had a zero-tolerance method. Now California babies criminals and encourages them to go out and commit a crime since most of the crime’s consequences are “a slap on the wrist” type of punishment.
